DMV offices across the state were unable to issue driver licenses Tuesday morning due to a "software issue," the N.C. Department of Transportation said on X.
At 9:14 a.m., the NCDOT said on X that the issue had been resolved.
"All #NCDMV Driver License offices are now fully operational and are servicing customers," the department said.
Earlier in the morning just before 8 a.m., the NCDOT said on X that there was a software issue with a third party vendor.
"All #NCDMV Driver License offices are currently experiencing a software issue from a third party vendor that is preventing issuance of driver licenses," the NCDOT said on X Tuesday morning. "The issue is also affecting online services related to driver license renewals."
